The Elton Adams Sunday School Class showed their appreciation to the KUMC staff March 6, 2008 with a luncheon in their honor. This is an annual event.

Seven members of Kennesaw United Methodist Church were on the team that went to New Orleans to work with the Samaritan Purse organization in the cleanup efforts from hurricane Katrina.  The team left on Tuesday am, Jan 31 and returned on Saturday am Feb 4th via the church van.  Protective suits and masks were necessary to wear for the cleanup project due to the dangerous mold and mildew that grows in water damaged areas."  Jim Baker and Bob Boyette are members of the Elton Adams S.S. class.

The work site assigned to our team to help clean up. House was completely demolished by water damage, followed by mold

The members of Elton Adams Sunday School Class welcome anyone who is looking for a Sunday School Class that studies the Bible, enjoys Christian fellowship and supports the church in its ministries. We feel Sunday School is an extension of Church in that it supports the message and allows us to digest the Scriptures and understand the meaning by further study. We lift our concerns and prayers and celebrate the praises God has given us.  We celebrate being able to use Room 107 in order to meet the demand of needing more room for our 66 members.  There is room for more - please come and visit us and then join us.

We go on a Day Retreat every year and have a special speaker who shares a message within the theme created for that day.  We will be retreating to Timber Ridge Conference Center in Mableton, GA., May 6, 2006.

Socially, we meet every other month, either in our homes or at a restaurant at which time we conduct our business meeting and enjoy a time of fellowship with each other. This is a great time for you to get to know us and for us to get to know you better.

Our ministries are varied: we share in the visitation program once a month, we support M.U.S.T. ministries, UM Children’s Home and the mission outreach programs of the church (Youth Missions, Mexico Missions, Brazil Missions).  Many of our members are involved in the laity service programs of the church through Ushering, Welcoming, Choir, Committee involvement, Gaines Park Assisted Living programs and the Stephens Ministry. Many of our members either have been or are involved in the Disciple Bible Studies.  We participate in Habitat for Humanity and welcome everyone to join us in this ministry.  We are also supporting individual troops with letters and packages.  Our class members have been honored by being invited to share in the welcome home party for the returning troops in the 48th Brigade on June 3rd, Saturday, in Douglasville Georgia due to our support for them.

We meet at 9:45 a.m. in Room 107 every Sunday morning. We have a great time of study together and invite you to come and visit us. We would love to meet you. New members are always welcome!
