Habitat For Humanity 2010
Hammer Home a Miracle with Habitat for Humanity
KUMC first participated in Habitat for Humanity in Cobb County in 2002. We partnered with Mt. Zion UMC and Wesley Chapel UMC. Since then we have added Due West UMC, Shiloh UMC and Mt. View UMC to our list of partners. This year (2009) our partner list has dwindled to Kennesaw UMC, Mt. Zion UMC and Due West UMC. We are searching for more partners.
Habitat's economic philosophy is based on what founder, Millard Fuller, calls the "economics of Jesus." The no profit, no-interest components of the program come from a passage in the Bible (Exodus 22:25) that says "If you lend money to any of My people who are poor among you, you shall not be like a money lender to him; you shall not charge him interest." "I see life as both a gift and a responsibility," Fuller says. "My responsibility is to use what God has given me to help his people in need."
Our build schedule for 2010 has been completed.
