Our phases of reopening will be based on hard data from the website https://www.globalepidemics.org. The site has a color-coded  map based on a 21-day rolling average of new daily cases per county.  We are tabulating this data for a 21 day rolling average to reduce week to week fluctuations.
–  If Cobb County is RED, we will return to full closure. Staff will work from home and outdoor areas will be closed to groups.
–  If we are ORANGE, staff will be on site. The office and prayer room will be open by appointment only. Outdoor areas will be available to groups.
–  If we are YELLOW, we will hold in-person worship in the sanctuary with social distancing and a limited order of worship.
Any worship decisions will be made by the risk level on the Thursday afternoon prior to Sunday.
– If we are GREEN, we will begin to open other parts of the building to groups with social distancing and other safety restrictions.
This will take the guesswork out of our decisions to move forward or to reverse our course and will remove any reliance on our government or denominational officials. Our priority is to make the best decisions for the health of our congregation, regardless of any political influence. This will also make our process observable by the congregation and the community.

Pastor Alex Stroud and our reopening task force have worked and are continuing to work hard to plan a phased reopening and guidelines that will allow us to reopen safely and responsibly.  We appreciate you support and your patience.  If you have any questions, please email office@kennesawumc.org.  Below you can read information about our four phase reopening plan, based on the Global Epidemics guidelines.
